Better Retirement Living Starts at StoneBridge

A Woman Smiling For The Camera

I really enjoy my covered front porch.  During nice weather, I can sit outside and read and talk to neighbors walking by on their daily walks. I have a scooter and enjoy taking it out on the paved walking paths behind my cottage.

I really appreciate how friendly the maintenance crew is.  They will do just about anything you need done in your home.  They even bring my newspaper to the front door in the morning.

I was very happy that all my furniture fit into my new home despite downsizing from a larger home in Cleveland.  I love the layout and size of my home.  It is just perfect for me.

Bill and I have lived at StoneBridge for 14 years now. We got interested in StoneBridge at the planning stage. We were looking for retirement options and decided to check out StoneBridge.  We met in an office in the Seminary building and were very impressed, and since we previously had hiked in Winton Woods and the surrounding grounds we were “in!”

It was so much fun watching the woods being cleared and the giant wood chip pile grow, the beginning of all of the cottages being built, meeting our new neighbors to be and enjoying being on the ground level of the project.  We decided to wait for Phase #2 and were one of the first to move in.

We have never regretted the move.  The grounds, neighbors, caring staff, no steps, security, close to family and the feeling of contentment all add up to our happiness at StoneBridge.  Come and join the fun!

If you would like to simplify your life and still have privacy and complete independence, consider moving to a beautiful over-55 community on the edge of Winton Woods. StoneBridge at Winton Woods provides all indoor and outdoor maintenance.  The monthly fee also includes property taxes, water, and sewage and trash removal, a membership to Mercy Healthy-Plex and more.

All the money that you invest at the time of entrance is returned when you leave.  What you give up are all the hassles of owning your own home and the one-floor cottages feel like a new home. Each cottage has either a one or two car attached garage.  You do not have to worry about snow removal.

Although we are relative newcomers to StoneBridge (moved in July 2020), we have no doubts about our decision to move here. We feel like we are on vacation all the time, in the beautiful setting of Winton Woods, with wonderful grounds for walking just outside our door.

The maintenance crew are very skilled and rapidly respond to any requests for help with clogged drains, broken garage doors, dishwasher repairs and picture hanging.

One of our favorite amenities is our membership to the Mercy Fairfield Health Plex which is a short drive from StoneBridge. We feel very safe and secure here.  The peace and quiet are a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life which is only a few blocks away but not at all noticeable.

In all ways, StoneBridge is a delightful place to live and meets our needs perfectly…

I have been at StoneBridge since August 2005. The cottages are designed for seniors, the people are friendly, the maintenance is included, and the prices are reasonable. It is my opinion that StoneBridge furnishes the best bang for the buck in Hamilton County.

My wife passed in 2017.  She also loved it at StoneBridge. During her last year, we hired the Visiting Angels group to come help her and we did not need to move to a different facility.

Mass liturgy is available in the Chapel 5 days per week for those interested. Walking through the private streets for exercise is popular for the residents. A new bus is available for activity trips and these will be resumed as soon as the Covid crisis is under control. We welcome new neighbors!

I am an original resident who moved to StoneBridge after losing my spouse only 2 months prior to moving here and this turned out to be the best thing I ever did.

I love this place, and the people. The maintenance folks are incredible and quick to respond. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a place that feels like home, has great people and there is not a thing I have to worry about for my cottage and surroundings.

We never knew StoneBridge existed until we received a little post card in the mail talking about a retirement community. I laid the postcard down and forgot about it. At the time, Barry and I were not ready to go to any retirement village or any retirement home. We built our house about 15 years ago and it was a dream home. We thought we were being smart. It was a large ranch home with a finished basement. We had the washer and dryer on the main floor, so we thought we were set to live there for the rest of our lives.

Little did we know that in August of this year, things would change so rapidly. Barry fell down the stairs and broke a vertebra in his neck. After two surgeries, he has finally recovered and is doing much better. As fate would have it, there were a few things on the house that were needing to be fixed. They were minor things but sent us overboard. We decided to see what StoneBridge had to offer.

15 years ago StoneBridge was being built the same time my house was being built. Little did I know that God had seen ahead and knew that we would need this place. So here we are 15 years later at StoneBridge. I loved my house and didn’t think I would ever leave it. But there are different seasons and I knew that the season had come and that I needed to leave that part of my life to someone else to enjoy as much as we did.

So here we are here at StoneBridge and we love it. The peace of mind that I have living here, knowing that things are taken care of for me has been a total relief and Barry feels the same way. We have been here a little over a month now and I have met several people here.

As I was saying, the peace of mind that has come to us has more than replaced the love that I had for my old house. It has given us such comfort and has take a load off of our shoulders. I am excited to share this story with other people that are thinking that it might be the time to make a move. If you are in a place where you feel it is time to make that move, StoneBridge is the best kept secret in Springfield Township! You won’t be sorry, and we’ll be glad to have you come and join our StoneBridge family.

A Bridge Over A Body Of Water

Cutting the grass, raking leaves, etc. were taking longer and longer. Our bodies were telling us to make some changes and downsize. We began to look at what was available near us. Our nephew and niece recommended that we look at StoneBridge. We visited the grounds and neighborhood.  Everything looked positive. Now we had to look at affordability.

We always lived on a budget from the day we were married. We added the cost of everyday living expenses with the fee at StoneBridge and we discovered StoneBridge was only $200 more than what we were paying in our own home and we had not factored in major expenses like a new roof, repairs, etc. StoneBridge was going to cover all these things. We also no longer had to pay house taxes, house insurance, water and garbage bills. It was a “No brainer.” It was worry free living in a peaceful environment.

Life here is not just a, “Do nothing” existence. (We have) access to bingo, card games, yoga, seasonal parties, free membership to Mercy Health Plex, bus trips to various places not too far away, etc. We have Catholic Mass in the Chapel 5 days a week. And every several weeks, the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library brings current and new books to our library for those who are interested. And of course, since the StoneBridge property abuts Winton Woods Park, there are trails on which to hike.

We have been here 15 years now, and we love it. We made a wise decision. The maintenance crew is knowledgeable and quick to respond. Management is easily accessible, friendly, and responsive. The cost is quite reasonable for all that is provided. We hope to live here until the Lord calls us to our final place of rest.

In 1999, we built our dream home. We thought it would be our forever home. We loved it, but ten years later, we got an offer on that home we believed we could not refuse. Our property was over one and a half acres and we considered how we would manage the necessary upkeep as we looked to the future. That gave us the impetus to find a place that would have the room and location to make our “Golden Years” happy ones.

a man standing in front of a truck The amenities here at StoneBridge gave us the opportunities to have a beautiful home without the concern about the upkeep. We have new friends and also the opportunity to socialize with them at on-site events offered by StoneBridge as well as excursions with Chauffeur Bob.

And most important, there is a maintenance team who take care of any problems inside and out. Moving here was the right decision for us and we are more than happy to promote StoneBridge to anyone who is looking for a “Forever” home.

Having relocated to Ohio from Arizona two years ago, we needed a new start in a new home. Although we wanted to live closer to our son in northern Kentucky, StoneBridge and its amenities caught our attention. We have found StoneBridge to be a friendly and caring community. The first nine months we attended many events, outside pleasure and dining. After COVID hit, we had to curtail most activities and spend most of our time indoors.

Even then (during COVID), we had plenty of fresh air and walking throughout this beautiful campus. Many times we could visit with neighbors from driveways or 6 feet apart in a circle in their driveways with 6-10 folks in attendance. We enjoy socializing and making friends, this was where we feel welcome and at home. We finally “fit in”! StoneBridge is quiet, peaceful, and secure and there is no better place for active seniors to live in Cincinnati!

With our “nest empty,” and while we were still relatively healthy, we made the decision to begin the process of looking for a one floor cottage home. We wanted to look forward to going somewhere as we left the home and neighborhood we loved. We also viewed this move as a gift to our children so they would not have to handle everything involved in such a move in the future.

We decided on StoneBridge for several reasons. In most of the communities we visited, the cottages seemed so cramped together and the campus had a stifling “big city” feel. At StoneBridge, the cottages are nicely spaced, and we loved the more pastoral, tranquil and peaceful feel of the campus as it is nestled in the natural beauty of Winton Woods. Plenty of room to move, walk and breath in the life-giving spirit of God’s creation!

We have now lived in StoneBridge for 5 years. We continue to love our beautiful one floor “no steps” cottage, the surrounding natural beauty, and most of all, the wonderful people associated with our StoneBridge Community. Our advice for anyone considering a move is to pull the band aid off quickly and make the transition to a new home while you are still physically and mentally able.

My husband Tom and I chose StoneBridge in 2017 because he needed to be on one floor and couldn’t do the stairs anymore. Tom’s kind of an introvert, but I get out and mingle. I attend daily Mass and was a member of the “Gil’s Golden Voices,” our community choir. Before COVID I enjoyed the bus trips that Stone Bridge planned – a great way to meet folks if you are new or they are new. There was a themed monthly potluck lunch – another great way to get together with new and old neighbors. We enjoy StoneBridge because of the parklike neighborhood, it is well kept, quiet, and I feel safe here.

Ah, life! We make our plans and then have to go to Plan B or C…or Q, R, S… Finding myself further down that alphabet of plans, I moved to Cincinnati, with a totally open mind as to where to live and what type of place to consider, knowing no one and never even having visited the area. Friends in other “senior living” arrangements had warned me to avoid that type of arrangement at all costs, but y’know… I wanted to look around with that open mind to consider what would work for me, now and in the future.

Well, since you’re reading my testimonial, you know what the decision was, over a condo, a house, or even an apartment. Others’ testimonies on this website will rave about amenities and conveniences and advantages of StoneBridge, and it is all true. In normal times, I travel a lot for extended periods (often 3+ months) and I will have no worries of unnoticed break-ins or  waist-high grass on my return. Yes, the staff here is awesome and attentive and a real pleasure to deal with, often reacting to a request with, “Would you like us to also…?” A few strolls through the neighborhood had me meeting the friendly residents. With COVID restrictions lessening, we’ve had some activities, so in the few short months I’ve been here, I’ve gone from knowing no one to being able to call people by their name and ask about their dog or how they liked the movie or if the Reds won or when the grandkids will next visit. Those friends who warned me off of the idea of active senior housing? They are stunned with what I’ve told them about Stone Bridge and may even be a teensy bit jealous?  In the barely 3 months since I moved in, it’s become not just where I am now, but home.  And I didn’t even get down to Plan Z!
